Let's all go to the fair!

There's not a ton of things to do up here so when the fair was going on in Cascade we decided to all go. There's nothing better than fair food! :)

When we were checking out the sheep we heard a familiar voice. It was Bishop Jones. He was in the next building with his kids and their cow. He invited us in to pet his cow. The bishop picked up Hannah to help her pet the cow, but she absolutely didn't want to touch it. I even picked her up and tried to make her touch it and she refused. Stubborn Girl!
She finally did it! Once she touched the cow she realized it wasn't so bad. I didn't realize cows were that soft!
We went to visit the pigs. Hannah liked them alot. She kept on saying "Now the next one" so we would move on to the next pig.

Grandpa Ernie got a turkey leg and he was sharing with Hannah. Those legs were HUGE!

Playing with grandpa!

Hannah and Grandpa Ernie are always playing! She finally got brave and stood on his hands. After she got comfortable with that she started moving around while she was up there. Grandpa didn't like that.

Two peas in a pod!

These two kids are so much alike! They both LOVE their blankets and binkies. I can give Gavin a binky and it's not good enough until he gets his blanket and then he calms down. That is exactly how Hannah was. Hannah sure loves Gavin! It's funny to watch her interact with him! Her voice gets really high pitched and she always calls him buddy. "Hi buddy or I love you buddy. " I can tell already that he is going to out grow her. Don't get me wrong. He is still small himself, but he is still a lot bigger than she was. This picture was taken on June 25th and he has changed a lot since then.

I feel like a pioneer!

Our church building is being remodeled right now. They had to add a sprinkler system throughout the whole church and had to take out the whole chapel so we had to find another place to go to church. The solution the bishopric came up with was to go to church in the bishop's barn. When they decided to do that the barn consisted of 4 poles in the ground. In a week they built 3/4 of the barn which is how it is today. The only thing they have added are stalls that are now occupied by horses. So we go to church with horses in our "chapel" and a cat that wanders through the rows of people. Of course Hannah's favorite thing to do is to play in the dirt during sacrament. It gets a little chilly in there so everyone has learned to wear a sweater, jacket, or blanket. We have Relief Society every other week up the hill in the Relief Society presidents house. The primary is held in a tent that you can kind of see on the left. Young Womens is also held in a tent, and the nursery is held in the bishop's basement. It's quite the experience! We were just told that we have 3 more weeks of this and then our building will be ready. I have to tell you the truth, I think I am going to miss going to church in the barn.

My little NIKE boy!

Isn't my little Nike boy so cute! Gavin is just getting the rolling thing down! He can now more all over the room by rolling.
He also likes the saucer, but not for a long period of time.
My two adorable kids!

The Little Firefly

Huckleberry Festival!

Wow! It's been a busy day! Up here in Donnelly the Huckleberry Festival is a big thing and it has brought a lot of people into town. The Little Firefly definitely was a buzzin'. It was as busy as the 4th of July. My brother, Jason, was in town with his portable restaurant "The Dragonfly" and we both had a busy day. The only bad thing about the Huckleberry Festival is that it is on Saturday and Sunday, so we miss out on a lot of money on Sunday. But we have faith that the Lord will bless us for not opening on Sunday. We tried to buy some huckleberries to put in our waffles and french toast but the cost was $150 for 4 lbs! Our mouths dropped when we heard the price! Of course we didn't buy them, so we sold Huckleberry ice cream, Italian Sodas, and Smoothies. We also had huckleberry flavoring to put in hot and cold drinks. All in all it was a good day!

When Lisa was at girls camp, Lori and I took all of the kids to the beach. It was a perfect day to go and we had the beach all to ourselves. The kids had a blast! We swam for a while and had fun burying Bryson in the sand. Last time we went to the beach, Emma and Gavin didn't like the water very much but this time they loved it! There are a lot of beaches along the lake but I really like this one. The sand is so soft and there aren't any mosquitoes. The water is perfect for the kids, not too deep.

Fun in the sun!

I finally have a blog!

Yea! I finally have a blog! Now I can be as cool as everyone else! Life up here in Donnelly is so busy that I hope I can keep my blog updated. We are busy running our restaurant "The Little Firefly", keeping up with our kids, and trying to enjoy the great outdoors. Everyone said life up here was great because it is a slower pace, but I still haven't experienced that. At least life is not boring!
